How the Online Intensive Works
  • You'll get three lessons per week for four weeks via email with private links to the course videos on that you can download or stream any time, anywhere.
  • Each lesson contains written information, a detailed technique instructional video, a drill video to help you get these new skills into your body, and a stretch video. Typical time for each lesson is 20-30 minutes, but you can repeat and practice as much as you want.
  • The videos are accessible for at least 6 months. All you need is an internet connection and access to (free). Plus, you can download the videos for offline study!
  • Registration options are available for self study, accountability, and VIP feedback. A certificate of completion is available with the last two options.
  • You can do this course from anywhere in the world, in any time zone, on your schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Should I sign up for Volume 1 or Volume 2?

A. If you're new to the Ballet Skills online intensive, sign up for Volume 1. This course covers the foundations that you'll need for further study, building up strong muscles and great lines.

If you've already taken Volume 1, sign up for Volume 2. In this course, you'll learn more movements, turns, and combinations.

If you've already taken Volume 1 but you want to do it again before doing Volume 2, email Rosa for a special discount code for 25% off the Volume 1 + Volume 2 combo.

Q. When do these courses run?

A. Both Volume 1 and Volume 2 are 4-week courses that will run simultaneously starting January 15, so both new and continuing students can jump into the course of your choice in the New Year. You'll get the lessons for whichever one you choose when you sign up below.

If you want to do Volume 1 and then Volume 2, we have a package for you! Choose the first registration option below. You'll get the lessons for Volume 1 starting January 15, then you'll have a 2-week break to catch up or review, and Volume 2 will start on February 26.

Q. I don't know anything about ballet. Can I do this course?

A. Yes! Ballet beginners are most welcome. People of all genders, body types, and backgrounds are welcome to join in learning these skills.

This online intensive will introduce the most basic principles of ballet, and how they apply to certain aspects of belly dance. You don't need to have any ballet experience at all.

Those with ballet experience will be reintroduced to the basics from a different perspective--which is also very helpful to belly dance teachers!

Q. How much time will I need to complete the assignments?

A. Participants will receive assignments by email three days a week for four weeks, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The time commitment for each assignment is 20-30 minutes.

Q. How do I access the videos? Do I need to commit to a certain time?

A. Your email assignments will contain special links to watch the password-protected videos on

The videos will be available to stream at your leisure OR you can download them for offline use. You can do the assignments at any time, so people in all time zones can participate.

Q. What if I miss a day?

A. You can do the assignments the day they arrive in your email inbox--or you can make your own schedule! You won't miss an assignment as long as you keep them in your email, so you can easily catch up.

Q. Do I need to turn in my lessons? Will I get feedback?

A. There are three options: Self Study, Accountability, and VIP Feedback. (See the details above!)

If you choose Option 1 Self Study, you do not need to turn in your assignments. This course consists of physical assignments for your growth and advancement. You can do the exercises at your own pace as the videos will remain accessible for at least 6 months.

If you choose Option 2 Accountability or Option 3 VIP Feedback, you have six weeks from the course start date to complete the assignments and upload your videos. With both of these options, you can earn a certificate of completion for this Grace Academy module!

Q. Where do I upload the videos?

A. If you choose Accountability (Option 2) or VIP Feedback (Option 3) you can upload your videos as private or unlisted links on YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive.

Q. Do I need special clothing or shoes?

A. Leggings and a tank top or sports bra are recommended. This will allow you to see the lines or your ankles, legs, and hips, which are very important elements of this course for both aesthetic and safety reasons.

Leather or canvas ballet slippers are recommended to help with turns and foot rotations, but you can also wear non-grippy socks. This course does not cover pointe (aka toe) work.

If you are uploading videos, please wear fitted clothing. Anything flowy or baggy will obstruct Rosa's ability to see your movements clearly.
