Train for strength and stamina without sacrificing artistry! This workshop will be a balance of cardio and muscle building drills across the floor. You will experience a multi-dimensional, high intensity class incorporating strength, power and balance while weaving in functional bellydance movement. The movement sequences may be modified or “kicked up” with a focus on foot patterns, hip and torso work, as well as arms. All this while in an insightful and supportive atmosphere. Take your training to the next level with this workshop. All levels welcome.
In the first 45 minutes if the workshop you will learn the traditional moves the Jewish Yemeni Dance. You’ll learn about the creative tin drum, why small footwork is used as well as the meaning of the head and hand gestures. A short traditional routine is included.
The next 75 minutes we will evolve into learning what the young people in the Tel-Aviv clubs are doing today and how they incorporate traditional Yemeni moves with hip-hop. The new sound and dance combines traditional music with electronic beats, hip-hop and reggae tone. Hip hop, bellydance and street attire welcome. For beginner to pro.
The complexity of stationary, strong, fast and fluid, often creates the "it factor" in a drum solo. Learn to ground your stationary isolations, then accelerate to create dynamic peaks of energy. Take your audience on a ride with this drum solo.
Want to know how Oreet can look 6 feet tall on stage while only being 4’11 tall? (shhh…don’t tell) Dig deeper into your connection and dance with the whole body while working on two concepts – Expression and Expansion. You will learn 2 stage ready combos that utilize length, weight shifts, strength and balance. These combos can be easily incorporated into your own movement vocabulary. For all dancers.
