Rosa is a fantastic teacher that is patient, encouraging, enthusiastic and passionate, and most importantly respects the art of dance and the culture behind the dance. Rosa teaches new students not just about belly dance but also about the region it is from and how to appreciate and celebrate these dances without appropriating the culture.

Rosa also is inclusive and supports and encourages folks of all genders and body types to join in on the fun. In most classes with Rosa I have been the largest woman in the room, however, Rosa saw my powerful hips for awesome shimmies and my belly for fantastic belly rolls. Rosa made me feel so welcome and included

Belly Dance Class FAQs

  • What we commonly call belly dance comes from the Middle East and North Africa. Once you start to learn about the roots of belly dance, its history, and how dance fits into many different parts of life, you'll be even more intrigued!

In the cultures of origin, belly dance is a social, celebratory dance form, done by regular people with their friends for enjoyment and expression, as well as by professionals for entertainment at all different types of events.

Rosa's experience is primarily with Egyptian style belly dance. She has visited Cairo numerous times to study and explore. She loves to share her knowledge to help students gain a deeper understanding of this dance form.

You'll learn to move in a whole new way, appreciating your body for all that it does for you both in class and in life.

  • Intro to Belly Dance is for folks who are new to belly dance OR new to Rosa’s teaching style.

Level 2 is welcomes students who have completed Rosa’s Intro to Belly Dance series and become familiar with the foundations OR have similar experience with other teachers.

Level 3 is for students who are fluent in the foundation movements and rhythms, and ready for the next level of challenge.
